How to Beat The Lost Child

The Lost Child is a continuous encounter rather than a formally divided phase fight. Its bites, arm swipes, jumping slam, extended arm sweep, and rear projectile attack create pressure at both close and medium range.

The cadence becomes faster later in the encounter. Treat that change as an escalation of the same fight, keep the boss in view, and avoid remaining directly behind it for too long.

Readable cues

Attacks & Counters

Bites and arm swipes

Cue
The boss attacks from the front with its jaws or follows with close arm pressure.
Safe response
Dodge the bite timing and do not assume a single arm movement ends the close-range sequence.

Jumping slam

Cue
The Lost Child launches into a heavy descending attack.
Safe response
Leave the landing area rather than trying to hold position beneath the boss.

Extended arm sweep

Cue
A long-reaching arm sweep travels across a wide part of the arena.
Safe response
Dodge or Harden through the sweep, then wait for the attack to finish before committing to a punish.

Rear projectile attack

Cue
When the player remains behind it, the boss can turn away and launch goop-like projectiles.
Safe response
Move laterally and avoid staying directly behind the boss for an extended period.
Decision framework

Core Strategy

  • Keep The Lost Child in view so its bite, jumping slam, and long arm sweep remain readable.
  • Dodge or Harden through the extended arm sweep instead of trying to outrange it late.
  • Do not remain directly behind the boss for too long; reposition before the rear projectile pressure begins.
  • Expect a faster cadence later in the same continuous encounter and shorten unsafe attack commitments.
