Scripted Tutorial Boss Encounter
Tar Golem is the scripted tutorial boss at the Bone Gate near the end of the linear Prologue. The encounter teaches deliberate defense and parry timing, while its missable challenge asks players to reduce the boss to minimum health before the fixed story outcome takes over.
Tar Golem is reached at the Bone Gate after Disciple’s Grotto by continuing along the linear Prologue path.
This tutorial encounter is tracked separately from the ten Campaign Major Bosses.
Tar Golem is a slow, scripted tutorial opponent built around readable melee attacks and an unblockable jumping ground smash. The fight ends in the same story outcome whether the player survives normally or reduces the boss to minimum health.
For a normal attempt, stay patient, avoid the large unblockable attacks, and use the readable normal swings to practice Perfect Guard or parry timing.
