How to Beat Sir Isaac, the Scholar-Prince

Sir Isaac begins behind shield pressure while using deliberate sword combinations. After removing the shield, he shifts into faster multi-hit strings with shorter openings between attacks.

Learn how long each sword string lasts before attacking, and reduce the length of each punish once the faster second stage begins.

Fight structure

Phases

Stage 1 — Sword and Shield

Sir Isaac combines shield pressure with measured sword strings. Wait for the complete sequence before committing to a punish.

Stage 2 — Shield Removed

After discarding the shield, Sir Isaac uses faster multi-hit strings and leaves shorter punish windows.

Readable cues

Attacks & Counters

Leaping lunge

Cue
Sir Isaac closes distance with a forward leap and sword lunge.
Safe response
Watch the approach rather than attacking into it, then reposition after the lunge completes.

Long sword combinations

Cue
A sword strike continues into a longer sequence instead of ending after the first swing.
Safe response
Avoid committing during the string. Harden can be safer than trying to dodge every unfamiliar hit.

Second-stage multi-hit strings

Cue
With the shield removed, the sword sequence becomes faster and leaves less recovery time.
Safe response
Use shorter punishes and reset your spacing before the next sequence begins.
Decision framework

Core Strategy

  • Learn the length of each sword string before committing to an attack.
  • Respect the shield pressure instead of forcing damage through the opening stage.
  • Shorten every punish after the shield is removed and the multi-hit strings accelerate.
